Louis started out with a campaign to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, particularly among the homosexual population. This campaign was created by the “Australie” agency, on behalf of Santé Publique France and won the “Prix Empreinte” 2017. The work on this campaign and the reflection that followed made it possible to address many subjects in an attempt to answer the central question: how to make prevention campaigns in public health legitimate in a pluralistic society? Public health has undergone a major transformation as a result of the HIV epidemic. This "political epidemic" has shook up medicine by introducing the notion of "health democracy" with the appearance of patients in decision-making processes. Contemporary public health has emerged and had to rethink its power to act. It gives way from "biopower" to "bio legitimacy": preferring to consider the rights and desires of recognition of "hyper individuals" rather than coerce. In addition, health culture and the importance of new health problems have given rise to the concept of a "health contract". Contract between citizens, but also between health professionals and public health authorities. The latter must consider the rights of individuals, respect for their autonomy, follow a codified approach and ensure that "fair procedures" are respected in the development of their missions within a fair framework. Pluralistic society must be persuaded to accept these measures by explaining the collective nature of promoting equal dignity. Exposing the willingness of public health to fight inequality is a good answer to the detractors of campaigns. Health appears as a common good, a public good that must be preserved and a legitimate angle of attack to fight against "socioparesis". Public health institutions must behave like "learning organizations": institutions that work to break down the barriers that prevent them from using the latest scientific advances while training their members in them. They must be uncompromising about the quality of their work. Thus public health institutions will be perfectly legitimate, creating a tacit subjective and consensual agreement based on ethical, political, societal, anthropological and epistemic criteria as to the existential validity of their actions. It collects both ancient and contemporary, European and international references. The questions addressed are : what is the role of visual communication when it comes to health ? What are its possibilities for action ? How to communicate better in healthcare ? How to deal with subjects such as life, health, illness ? Graphic design and communication have a role to play in the fields of health and medicine. By providing a prevention message, fighting epidemics and addictions, educating health professionals, guiding patients and organizing care processes and accurately indicating vital informations. Wouldn't good communication be essential to quality care ? The site is composed of a section listing articles on different periods of graphic design, exhibitions dealing with these subjects, the relationship of contemporary art and medicine or the iconography of the struggles of certain patient associations that have established "health democracy". The ethical, scientific, epistemological and aesthetic changes of the "AIDS years" are one of Louis’ main interests. Another part happens to be a blog in which short posts are published. The document consists of a medical article, a letter introducing the survey and an atlas presenting the territory where it took place.Louis Malachane chose to use the opportunity offered by my internship in liberal medicine, from May to October 2016, to complete my thesis by focusing on the analysis of the opinions and expectations of the population of the territory on the future of the practice. As suggested by the French institutions in their latest proposals, the reform of healthcare provision must start in the territories. Thus, by asking patients, local dynamics and expectations are better understood while consolidating health democracy. In the article, opinions were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed with bivariate statistical tests.Then, with the help of the atlas, the geography and urban planning of the territory was studied in order to better understand its organization, typical of peri-urbanity: industrial zones mixing with commercial zones, forests with fields and small towns are scattered here and there. Samizdat / самиздат means in self-publication in Russian and was used to name the dissident activity of creating, printing and distributing underground and censored printed matter. Digital Samizdat is an ongoing photographic project initiated by Mathieu Bujnowskyj and Louis Malachane. It represents for them the liberating act of producing, editing, and assembling images together to create visual stories in the digital age. All the images are produced, edited and published by them with analog and digital cameras, phones, tablets and scanners. They are the result of their field trips, personal interests and researches, mainly articulated around architectural and landscape photography in an urban context. They travel together, most of the time, and are on the lookout for remote places with a strong aesthetic : deconstruction or construction, fragmentation, disappearance, self-vandalism, disasters, ruins and remains. Locations loaded with ideological, economic or political significance are their favourite. The small visual stories they produce are time conscious and try to read in the present positive or negative markers of history : an archaeological delight, searching for the sublime. They have a particular fascination for the ruins of the Eastern Bloc, the last empire. Utopias, wastelands, ruins and otherworldly locations are their playgrounds.
